Part Two:
I introduced myself and got in after six steps from the blue rusted door to the main wooden door of the house. Everything inside that house was dark although it was a sunny day. The air felt sad. There were bricks all over the house and electricity wires were hanging down. In the left corner of the empty living room was a young woman wearing a light blue dress and a long shela; black head cover. The young woman’s name was Jameela. She had lived in this crumbling house for many years. She had dark skin but it didn’t look like she had been born with it. She was injured and had difficulty while moving. She seemed quiet and she smiled continually. The house was empty. There was no furniture. It seemed like somebody have just moved out. In the right corner was a room that looked like a store. It was piled up with boxes … many boxes that were there to burst out the door! It seemed as if in that room you would have no difficulties in finding every item you could purchase in Ajman. On the other side of the living room was the kitchen. It was simple and empty. Its dirty marble was covered in muddy footprints and I could sniff the dust that was in the air.
She was staring at something invisible, as if she was somehow disconnected from the world. When she finally returned to earth, she looked at me and smiled. It seemed as if she had lots of things to say, but she was afraid of something that I couldn’t identify. Next to her lay an infant who cried continuously. He was wearing a little white T-shirt and his legs were covered with an unclean white towel. He screamed and burst into tears whenever he moved his head. Something was bothering him. The top part of his right ear looked as if it had been ripped off.
“Basheer’s right ear was bitten by a rat”, she said sadly while she held him closer to her.
“There are lots of rats in this area, have you seen any?” she asked me.

x You may not believe the story of Jamella. Feel free to deny it or believe it.
x Why Ajman? Well its one of the other Emirates that don’t match the Abu Dhabi & Dubai image!
x This story was inspired by a tiny square news piece in the newspaper My friend gave it to me.. Thank you Fadeela!
x Remember: Imagination is creativity so don’t make fun of it or analyze it too much!

Everybody was breathing normally as if they were used to this kind of inhalation. It was shocking to see that they were not bothered with what I smelled. I crossed the alley in a hurry because I couldn’t stand the awful smell. It felt like I had been hit in the face by a ten day old dead animal. Through the dark and narrow alleyway, I walked. The only thing I was thinking about was the need to focus. I wanted to avoid the stinking sewage and the army of mosquitoes attacking me. The way seemed long but the end of it was worth it. I couldn’t believe that what I saw was in the Emirates. It was one of the most unforgettable scenes of my life.
“Here we are,” said my brother as he offered me a bottle of water.
We were in one of the most uncivilized and horrible neighborhoods in the UAE. At one point, I felt like I had been dumped in one of the developing cities in Asia or Africa but guess what? I was in xxxxx, Ajman. All of the houses looked the same. They were small, villas the color of decay. They were made of old types of bricks and surrounded by gates. Only one house looked different. I thought it was under construction but actually it was the one house I was looking for. I got closer to the house and in front of the gate was a dead cat. I knocked on the blue rusted door although it was widely opened.
“Who’s this?” called out a woman with a strangled voice.

I happen to know this person . . . let me refer to her as “X”!
“X” in traveling: Her bag ends up being a junk store every-time she travels. In her bag you can find things that any other person in the world would grab and leave behind! She bring a lot of stuff when she travels that she won’t even need or use in her life.
Believe it or not, “X” once packed a fanny pack in her hand bag. She might be the only person on planet packing a pack in a hand bag LOL. On another trip, she packed AAA batteries!!!! I wonder what was going in her mind at that time? Oh let me pack batteries . . . who knows? I might stop working! Batteries, BATTERIES “X”?!!! As if you won’t find them anywhere else . . . like. . . the duty free for example !!
“X” is so obsessed with packing useless things just for the sake of “being prepared all the time” . . . her parents already think she developed an “OCPUTD” a.k.a “Obsessive Compulsive Packing Unnecessary Things Disorder”. TO BE CONTINUED

Fanny Packs are these tiny little bags with belts. They fit around your waist.
OCPUTD is the new disorder we discovered thanks to “X”
If someone says “I happen to know this person” it usually means they are referring to themselves !
The Hachiko exit is one of six exits in Tokyo’s train station. If you think the name refers to a historical event in Japan you are wrong! If you think the word means exit in Japanese, you are also wrong!!
Hachiko was a Japanese dog from the Akita breed. He was owned by a professor in the University of Tokyo. Everyday, specifically at the end of the day, Hachiko goes to the train station to great his owner.
One day his owner took the train but never came back, he died! For 10 years Hachiko continued his daily routine even when he was adopted by another family. The loyal dog kept escaping from his new owner at the same time in which he used to leave his master’s home to the train station.
Then , , , for the first time in 10 years Hachicko stopped waiting. Not because he got it and not because he got bored of waiting. . . but because he died.
P.S: Don’t look down on non-human creature & never make fun of the relationship between a pet & his owner.

Tokyo train station named the “Hachiko exit” after Hachiko (It is where he used to wait for his master)
A Bronze statue was made in his honor at the train station
In Japan loyalty = Hachiko!
He was the subject of books and movies (Last movie was made in 2009 featuring Richard Gere)
Note; I Saw his story in Animal Planet & had to share it!!

x You planned , you prayed . . . you gave it all to execute your plans but they just didn’t happen /
Now you are depressed & confused!
You no longer want to speak, communicate or do anything anymore.
All you kept asking was Why?”. . . “Is this some kind of a punishment?” . . . “Have I done something wrong?”
Then someone around you goes like “Come on! cheer up! How about . . .? ”
You keep saying “No” but that person insists “Lets do it”
You hesitate , You refuse then you hesitate again but this time you agree !
x Now you are dragged into a “situation” … a situation you refused few minutes ago!
You fake a smile . . . pretend your fine . . .
Then the most important moment in your life happens!!!
In one minute your life takes a different direction even better than what you’ve planned for.
Now your smiling & your fine!
You planned , you prayed . . . you gave it all to execute your plans but they just didn’t happen
Why? because the plan of “Allah” is far greater !
x In one minute you can have a career
Or you can have a career failure!
In one minute you can survive a fatal crash
or you can just be dead in it
In one minute you can find a friend … a spouse
or you can just end a relationship
x Q; how can we maintain happiness in all cases?
A; Check the tittle of the post!
